Christ Jesus is our greatest need!

“Christ is the greatest good, the choicest good, the chief good, the most suitable good, the most necessary good. He is a pure good, a real good, a total good, an eternal good, and a soul-satisfying good.

Revelation. 3:17,18

Sinners are you poor?

Christ has gold to enrich you.

Are you naked?

Christ has royal robes, he has

white clothing to clothe you.

Are you blind?

Christ has eye-salve to enlighten you.

Are you hungry?

Christ will be manna to feed you.

Are you thirsty?

He will be a well of living water to refresh you.

Are you wounded?

He has balm under his wings to heal you.

Are you sick?

He is a physician to cure you.

Are you prisoners?

He has laid down a ransom for you.

Ah, sinners! tell me, is there anything in Christ to keep you off from believing?

Is there not everything in Christ that may encourage you to believe in him?

Oh, then, believe in him, and then, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah. 43:25; 38:17

Micah 7:19

Only one life,

Jesus died for us

Only One Life, Twill Soon Be Past

“Two little lines I heard one day,

Traveling along life’s busy way;

Bringing conviction to my heart,

And from my mind would not depart;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,

Soon will its fleeting hours be done;

Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,

And stand before His Judgement seat;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, the still small voice,

Gently pleads for a better choice

Bidding me selfish aims to leave,

And to God’s holy will to cleave;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years,

Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;

Each with its clays I must fulfill.

living for self or in His will;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

When this bright world would tempt me sore,

When Satan would a victory score;

When self would seek to have its way,

Then help me Lord with joy to say;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep,

In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;

Faithful and true what e’er the strife,

Pleasing Thee in my daily life;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Oh let my love with fervor burn,

And from the world now let me turn;

Living for Thee, and Thee alone,

Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,

Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;

And when at last I’ll hear the call,

I know I’ll say “twas worth it all”;

Only one life, “twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be,

If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.”

Why am I here? What’s life all about?

Life can be seemingly meaningless, and the joy seems to be gone as we trundle along the never ending rat race of life!

All too often people struggle and sooner or later they come to a crossroads on the road of life to consider…

Why am I here?

Isn’t there more to life than…

  • Work?
  • Study?
  • Routine?
  • Keeping up with others?
  • Money?
  • Illness?
  • Worry?
  • Family?
  • Relationships?
  • Travel?

The list could really be endless and for each of us we will all have our own individual drudgery/concerns depending on how life makes one feel, sooner or later we all get to the point of wondering;

Why am I here?

 What’s life all about?

How did I get here?

Surely there’s more to life than eat, sleep, work, family, friends, money, eat, sleep… or like the song, ‘eat, sleep, rave repeat’ when all there is is to dance the nightaway!  After a time these events become routine and boring and people escape either by running away or submerging themselves in work, keeping busy with family or constantly keeping busy, too busy to think!

Have you considered;

Why you are here?

What is the purpose of my life?

What is the purpose of life?

How did I get here? I know I was born, but where did created life come from?

Why and how did the world come to exist or the universe?

Where are you going?

Why is there no peace in the world?

Why does there seem to be so much cruelty by man to each another?

I found the answer…

The world and universe had to come from something or somewhere, it couldn’t come from nothing nor could it just explode into the world, universe and beyond! There had to be something behind the birth of the universe and the world we live on, but how can it come to be from particles in the atmosphere and the scientific explanation, which requires a lot of faith in Astrophysics. Where did the particles come from? I don’t believe it was just sitting in an expanse awaiting some Big Bang to then bring about the process of creating order out of chaos.. I don’t think I have that faith to believe in so much cause and effect over millions of years to create the universe, world and life! I don’t have the scientific knowledge to go into it all. I have read around the subject and mused over the idea but still conclude it takes a lot of faith to believe in evolution, the Big Bang over millions of years to gradually produce a world living things can exist and actually benefit each other seemed to much like a fairy tale to be believable.

I have searched and I did find the meaning and purpose of life?

I recall looking out of a window, looking at the world… people, thinking there must be more to life than this? People are born, live have family, work, friends, do things to enjoy life but then they die. Maybe not quite so short, they may face adversity and trouble personally, family, friends or in the world around them but ultimately we will all die. I know people are hoping that cryogenics might work but I don’t see the point my family had lived, died or are still living but what point is it for me to be brought back to life in a hundred years when all my family and friends have died or will be old!

I found the answer, really I knew the answer then as a child I had heard about God creating the world and even I believed it but then I got sucked into the world… family, friends, enjoying life, without a thought for who God is.

In the Bible it begins with the Book of Genesis, God made the world and everything in it and it was good. Then he made man in chapter 2 and God said, it was very good, he then made a helper for man a woman, as it was not good for man to be alone. Then in chapter 3 it all goes wrong, a serpent who is actually a fallen angel tricked the man and woman to become like God. God then curses the serpent Satan and the man and woman it also promised to send  rescuer in the future who would crush Satan’s head with his heel. This points to Jesus, God sent his son to be our Saviour to pay the penalty for sin by dying in the cross to make us right with God, because God loves us (John 3:16), all we need to do is accept we have turned our backs on God, living our own way to then ask him to forgive us and believe in Jesus as Saviour and confess our sin.

Who is Jesus? This link will aid and assist you to read it succinctly and also find out more information and answered to questions you may have.

  Genesis 1:

26-28 God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them

        reflecting our nature

    So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,

        the birds in the air, the cattle,

    And, yes, Earth itself,

        and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”

    God created human beings;

        he created them godlike,

    Reflecting God’s nature.

        He created them male and female.

    God blessed them:

        “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!

    Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,

        for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

29-30 Then God said, “I’ve given you

        every sort of seed-bearing plant on Earth

    And every kind of fruit-bearing tree,

        given them to you for food.

    To all animals and all birds,

        everything that moves and breathes,

    I give whatever grows out of the ground for food.”

        And there it was.

31 God looked over everything he had made;

        it was so good, so very good!

    It was evening, it was morning—

The walled garden  ~ Author unknown

Your marriage should have within it a secret and protected space, open to you alone. Imagine it to be a walled garden, entered by a door to which you only hold the key. Within this garden you will cease to be a mother, father, employee, homemaker or any other of the roles which you fulfil in daily life. Here you can be yourselves, two people who love each other. Here you can concentrate on one another’s needs. So take each other’s hands and go forth to your garden. The time you spend together is not wasted but invested – invested in your future and nurture of your love.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
